Students from Yakama Nation Tribal School recently had the opportunity to explore careers in the justice system during the 2026 Student Conference: Color of Justice, an engaging event designed to inspire and empower young people through hands-on learning and meaningful connections with professionals in the legal field.
During the conference, students participated in a mock trial experience that gave them a firsthand look at courtroom procedures and the legal process. They also took part in a panel discussion featuring law enforcement officers, lawyers, judges, and parole officers. Students asked thoughtful questions, engaged in important conversations, and proudly represented their school throughout the event.
The conference brought together students and educators from schools across the Yakima Valley, creating a collaborative and inspiring environment focused on leadership, opportunity, and future career pathways. Experiences like Color of Justice help students envision new possibilities for their futures while building confidence and awareness of the many roles within the justice system.
Yakama Tribal School extends its sincere gratitude to Yakima County Courthouse, Educational Service District 105, and individuals Amanda Rodriguez and Saul Guizar for helping make this meaningful experience possible for students.
The school is grateful to be included in opportunities that encourage, empower, and inspire youth to dream big and explore the many paths available to them.
